Variety reports that Scottie Thompson (TV’s Trauma, Star Trek) is the latest addition to the cast of Skyline, the new sci-fi thriller from Colin and Greg Strause.

Thompson will play Elaine, the girl next-door-turned-hero. She joins Eric Balfour, Donald Faison, David Zayas (Dexter), Kate Mara and Laz Alonso.

Scripted by Joshua Cordes and Liam O’Donnell, the story for Skyline revolves around “a group of party-goers who wake up to discover a mysterious bright light outside. When they investigate the source of the light they start to realize the true scale of the terror that awaits them.

According to IMDB Scottie has been cast in a new movie called “Skyline”, directed by The Strause Brothers (“Aliens vs Predator”). Kate Mara, Eric Balfour, Laz Alonso and David Zayas (from “Dexter”) are co-starring. Filming started yesterday, February 1.

“After a late night party, a group of friends are awoken in the dead of the night by an eerie light beaming through the window. Like moths to a flame, the light source is drawing people outside before they suddenly vanish into the air. They soon discover an otherwordly force is swallowing the entire human population off the face of the earth. Now our band of survivors must fight for their lives as the world unravels around them.”
